Ruben Rivera is a 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Blackbelt directly under the legendary Eddie Bravo. Ruben was the head of one of the most successful 10th Planet Academies in Southern California in Costa Mesa. After growing up in New Mexico he turned to martial arts and found grappling, striking and began an MMA career while he also broke into the film industry as a stunt man! After working closely with Tait Fletcher and rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest stars in MMA such as Jon Jones, Michelle Waterson and Greg Jackson Ruben headed out to California. He is still an active Jiu Jitsu competitor as well as his wife Jenn who is a brown belt. Ruben talks the process of attempting to open a new business in Dallas Texas during the beginning of Covid and has a positive outlook on life and patience. Ruben is an old soul and wise beyond his years which helps bring a philosophical approach to his students to pair up with his physical and technical teachings. He has a solid following and is widely respected as one of the top instructors and competitors in the area and is continuing to do big things and help shape up and coming athletes as well.
